Lose to Win Weight Loss Program:
Nyack Hospital’s Lose to Win Weight Loss Program
is an 8-week program that uses up-to-date methods to help you be successful and to lose weight safely.
Community members who have been trained as weight loss instructors teach the program. The program costs only $10.
Each of the eight 90-minute sessions will teach you how to make healthy food choices and how to exercise correctly. You will hear how others have overcome their difficulties and have a chance to discuss your successes. You will get tips on nutrition, exercise and behavior change. You will be inspired and motivated.
The average weight loss for participants completing this program is 4.5 pounds in 8 weeks.
It is recommended that you check with your doctor before beginning this program.

Thank you Michelle and you - all the class, for the information, the honesty, and the encouragement.
I've never told anyone this before, but 21 years ago I was extremely obese, weighed 317 pounds. For the 15 years before that, I had been working two jobs (sometimes 3), raising my children on my own, and over-indulging in anything I could get my hands on - it kept me going.
When I finally decided to make a change, I started walking around my block - at about 5:30am, so that no one would see me. I didn't even have sneakers - I wore sandals. My girls told me to buy sneakers. I had previously hated to shop for shoes and clothes. Well, I bought sneakers. And I discovered a nearby college had lights on their track at night, so I started walking that as well. And, or course, I started eating better food.
After one year I lost about 80 pounds. Since then I have learned more about nutrition and exercise, and have lost more. I do tend to have weak times when I gain up to 20 pounds. That scares me to think I may go back to my old ways, but then I find a group like you. Well, today I weigh 172 (a total loss of 145 pounds), I feel good, and I thank you all.
And, guess what? Now I sort of enjoy shopping for clothes!
