The School Resource Guide workgroup of the Rockland County School Health and Wellness Coalition is currently developing a listing of community-based organizations and programs that provide services useful to schools for a variety of needs. The listing is being developed by a committee made up of Rockland schools and community service providers and will be posted in the coming months. In addition to local resources, other useful documents and national school health related organizations may be found below.

Steps Youth Survey
The Steps Youth Survey was conducted in all Rockland County public high schools during the spring of 2005 and 2007. The purpose of the survey was to provide data primarily on the weight, dietary, physical activity, and tobacco use behaviors of Rockland high school students.
This data can be useful in planning policy, educational programming and services to address readiness to learn issues (i.e. unsafe dieting strategies and lack of physical activity and fitness) and chronic disease prevention. The 2005 Youth Survey Report and the 2007 Youth Survey Report contains highlighted data as well as recommendations on how to address student needs.
