Join Docent John Jurasek on this 4-mile (with an optional 2-mile extension on the pier), more difficult (3-sneaker) walk.  The terrain is mostly smooth with some slightly rough places.  This walk will be at a moderate pace with some climbing involved.  This is a Geocaching walk so bring a GPS if you have one.  In addition bring a trail lunch.

Walkers will meet in front of 450 Piermont Avenue in Piermont NY (10968)

Directions: Route 9W to Piermont NY (follow signs). Go down hill until you reach Piermont Avenue. Make a right on Piermont Avenue and park in the municipal lot on left.

Participants should wear proper footwear (close-toed sturdy shoes such as walking shoes/boots or sneakers) and clothing (light-colored), and bring along sunscreen, binoculars, water and a snack, and walking sticks if desired. Hiking boots preferred.

Walks are sponsored by the Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources, the Rockland County AmeriCorps program and the Rockland County Department of Health’s Steps to a Healthier Rockland program.
