Join the Bloomfelds, a dynamic docent duo, on this pioneering walk at High Tor State Park.  This 3-mile moderate walk, along a cleared, semi rocky terrain trail, will lead participants around High Tor park. Be prepared for a moderate (2-sneaker) uphill climb.

Walkers should meet at the trailhead on Central Highway.

Directions: Take Little Tor Road, past the blinking light at South Mountain Road. Little Tor becomes Central Highway there and ascends High Tor (heading toward Haverstraw).  At the peak of the hill, pull off the road to the right, this is the trailhead.  Don’t forget to bring along water, binoculars, and walking sticks if desired. Hiking boots preferred.

Participants should wear proper footwear (close-toed sturdy shoes such as walking shoes/boots or sneakers) and clothing (light-colored), and bring along sunscreen, binoculars, water and a snack, and walking sticks if desired. Hiking boots preferred.

Walks are sponsored by the Rockland County Division of Environmental Resources, the Rockland County AmeriCorps program and the Rockland County Department of Health’s Steps to a Healthier Rockland program.
