Join Docent Mary Beth Foisy on this 5 mile, difficult walk (3-sneaker) with a climb of over 1,000o feet during the first 2 miles to reach the summit of Bald Mountain. The top will afford a panoramic view of the Hudson Valley and the beautiful fall foliage. The hike will then continue at a more gentle descent, looping onto the 1777 Trail and through the former settlement of Doodletown, a community that thrived for 200 years until becoming parkland in the 1960s...

Rockland County schools will share their successes in programming that involves physical activity, nutrition, gardening, substance abuse prevention, sexual and reproductive health education and "healthy" fund raising. Community organizations will highlight their resources for schools and families. Don't miss the announcement of the most active schools from March Forward! The showcase is for educators and parents and will take place on May 1st from 4:00 -5:30 PM at Rockland BOCES, Building 10 Conference Center, 65 Parrott Rd., West Nyack, NY. Join Docent Nice McLean, on this difficult (3+ sneaker) 8-mile round-trip fitness walk. The walk will begin from the Firehouse at Rockland Lake State Park. Walkers will hike all the way up the mountain then proceed down to Nyack Beach and return to the Firehouse along the flat river trail.
